systemic racism
(JULY 2020) After the killing of George Floyd and the protests around the country, we met as a group to discuss our role and responsibility. We determined that we would engage in three ways:
33% Recurring
Systemic racism is not new, and change will take ongoing engagement. We donated 33% of our monthly donations (~$400/month) to organizations fighting for racial justice.
1% of Salaries
In order to make an impact at the moment, those who were willing and able also committed 1% of their salaries to orgs that are local and personal.
Educating Ourselves
We share books, articles, and movies, to educate ourselves about the history of systemic racism in the US. We create space during our meetings to discuss.
We support Black-led organizations addressing racial justice at the local and national levels.
